Ghana continues to strengthen its global standing and mobility. As your dedicated visa and travel partners, we are pleased to share the latest updates regarding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' recent expansion of visa-waiver agreements.

The New Agreements
Following Cabinet approval on April 22, 2026, Ghana has entered into reciprocal visa-free arrangements with three key nations:
Antigua and Barbuda (The Caribbean)
The Maldives (South Asia)
Zambia (Southern Africa)
What This Means for Global Travellers
These agreements are designed to streamline international travel for business, tourism, and diplomatic purposes. Once fully ratified by Parliament, the following terms will apply:
Eligibility: Holders of Ordinary, Service, and Diplomatic passports are covered under these deals.
Duration of Stay: Citizens of these countries and Ghana can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 30 days.
Implementation Status: These agreements are currently in the final stages of Parliamentary ratification. Travellers are advised to await the official commencement date before booking travel under these specific terms.
Strategic Growth in Mobility
This move brings the total number of destinations accessible to Ghanaian passport holders to approximately 54 countries. Furthermore, these deals align with Ghana’s broader vision of regional integration, complementing the upcoming May 25th (Africa Day) launch of the Free E-Visa policy for all African nationals.
